If I join, do I have to go to meetings, spend all my spare time in the classroom, or volunteer for events?

No, Nope, and not unless you want to! Becoming a member of the PTO supports the school, teachers, students, and administration acquire items for the classroom, gym, library, and extras such as technology, playground equipment, and supplies! If you can help out in the class, office, or at an event, then great!

What types of things does the PTO membership fee go towards?

The PTO funds academic programs and supplies for the teachers and students that enhance the learning environment within the school. We are a 501c3 non-profit and any monetary contribution is completely tax-deductible.

We live in a very wealthy county, so why do we need to fundraise for the classroom?

While we are fortunate enough to have a very financially supportive school system, they still are not able to provide all supplies, extras, and comforts that support our teachers, students, and staff as best as possible. The school system supplies the basics, and we supply the extra to create the most enriching learning environment possible for everyone!

Can anyone support the PTO, or do I have to have a child enrolled in the school?

YES! Investing in Mill Creek Elementary School and its people is investing in your community. We often have members of the local area donate and gift to cultivate students by giving them the opportunity to enhance their classroom tools. All boats rise when pour into our own - giving back to the school is just one way to do so!

Additionally, grandparents, extended family, and friends can donate as well! We have the ability to accept a gift from Maine to Hawaii, Alaska to Florida - so ask your friends and family to send a donation to support your child and their education by sending them here!
