Hello Charger Families! Welcome to the first edition of the 2023-2024 PTO weekly newsletter, "This Week In The PTO". 

Normally this newsletter is sent to only those families who have purchased a PTO membership but for our first newsletter, we wanted all of our MCES families to be able to experience one of the perks of being a PTO member.

Who is the PTO? We are a volunteer organization made up of parents, teachers, administrators, and support staff dedicated to the successful education of our children. 

What does the PTO do? The MCES PTO works hard to help make the school year both enjoyable and exciting for students, teachers, and parents. We use our resources, both manpower and monetary, to support the staff's efforts and provide learning and enrichment opportunities for our children.

What does the PTO need from you? 

1. Your Membership: Your $20 family membership helps with all the monetary needs of the school and students. Join HERE!
2. Get Involved: Volunteer your time. Come to meetings. Read the minutes. Give us your thoughts. Jump in and help. Ask questions. Donate what you can. Many hands make the job easier.

The MCES spirit wear store is now open. Click HERE to shop all of the new swag, including new field trip shirts. All spirit wear will be delivered to your child's classroom. We also recommend ordering your child's field trip shirt by September 31st to ensure they will have it in time for all classroom field trips.

Teacher & Staff Favorites Lists are in the process of being updated. If you do not see the teacher or staff you are looking for keep checking back, we are working hard to get them all uploaded to the website.

Please take time to look these over. Several new categories have been added this year so there are lots of goodies to choose from. Let's spoil all our teachers and support staff! You can view the Favorites Lists HERE.

What is a "Happy Cart"? The Happy Cart is a rolling cart full of goodies that is wheeled around to all faculty and staff. It is a simple way to remind all our wonderful teachers and staff how appreciated they are. 

The PTO needs help stocking the cart. If you would like to donate items to the Happy Cart please visit this sign-up.

MCES is so lucky to have an amazing break room for our teachers and staff. The PTO tries to keep the break room stocked with everyone's favorite beverages and snacks. 

If you are able to provide items to stock the break room, please sign up using the Stock The Break Room sign-up 

As the year progresses, more and more volunteer needs will arise. If you are interested in volunteering please take a moment to fill out our "Volunteer Interest" form.

The MCES cafeteria is in need of Lunchroom Volunteers. Duties include: assisting students through the lunch line, advising students of their menu choices, helping to open drinks & condiments and lending a hand with any other minor task.

If you would like to volunteer your time to help in the cafeteria please use this Lunchroom Volunteers Sign-up. 

Our Lost and Found needs your help! Our goal this year is to keep our Lost and Found more organized. We are looking for volunteers to come sort through the clothes. The racks will be sectioned by size. So you will organize by size while checking for names on clothes. If you are able to help, visit the Lost & Found Sign-Up.

The MCES Beautification Committee needs your help. The purpose of this committee is to fill in the gaps in campus upkeep that the school district is not contracted to do. If you are able to volunteer your time please check out the following sign-ups:
